LEF Recognizes Teachers of the Year

A "Western Hoe Down" atmosphere was used as the theme of a brunch sponsored to honor the 28 teachers from Lafourche public schools who were named "2010 Teachers of the Year". The function was held in the Cotillion Ballroom on the Nicholls campus. The event, sponsored by the Lafourche Education Foundation, Whitney Bank and the Daily Comet - Houma Courier featured an indoor barbecue meal. Cajun story teller and humorist Curt Boudreaux provided entertainment for the function.

The function provides an opportunity to show appreciation for excellence and dedication to teaching. Each teacher is individually recognized and presented with a plaque and other awards. The top three educators were: Patricia Nicolle Borne - Bayou Boeuf Elementary, Desi Sanders - Golden Meadow Middle School and Cory Adams - Central Lafourche High School.
