NewsApril 30, 2009 Sixth Annual Gala
Matthews native and Lafourche public school graduate, Mike Detillier, was the guest speaker and was recognized as the Distinguished Graduate at the Lafourche Education Foundation's Sixth Annual Gala held in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Donald Bollinger Memorial Student Union on the Nicholls campus. Detillier emphasized the role educators play in children's lives; teachers never know which students they might influence to do great things. Detillier presented a preview of what he expects of the New Orleans Saints during the 2009 football season.
Proceeds from this event allow the Foundation to provide support for projects which enhance learning within the schools of Lafourche Parish.
