Seventh Annual Gala

The fundraising event sponsored by the Lafourche Education Foundation, an annual Gala, was held on the campus of Nicholls State University. The event included a cocktail reception, speaker and silent auction.

Sarah Usdin, CEO of New Schools for New Orleans was the guest speaker. As the CEO of her group, the goal of the nonprofit is to open public charter schools that attract high quality teachers, provide them with the resources to teach well and hold these teachers accountable for results. Mark Boudreaux, a member of the Thibodaux High graduation class of 1978 was recognized as the Distinguished Graduate for 2010. Boudreaux, the Deputy Manager of Science Programs and Projects for NASA shared how the education he received in Lafourche Parish public schools prepared him for higher education and honed his leadership skills which are needed in his position.
