NewsSeptember 28, 2006 Local High School Program To Receive $5,000 Chase Grant The Lafourche Education Foundation will be awarding Lafourche Parish Schools a grant of $5,000 from J.P. Morgan/Chase. Chase contributes $10,000 per year to LEF, $5,000 of which is to be directed to a specific innovative school program. This year's grant will be awarded to Supervisor of Secondary Instruction Blaine Degruise for the Rigor and Relevance Framework program, a new model for high school instruction developed by the International Center for Leadership in Education. This framework is based on two dimensions: knowledge and application. It is designed to help students apply knowledge learned in the school setting to solve real-world problems, and to create projects, designs, and other works for use in the real world.
