Outstanding Educators to Be Honored at 2006 Teacher-of-the-Year Banquet

WWL-TV personality Frank Davis and wife Mary Clare will be the guest hosts of the third annual Lafourche Education Foundation (LEF) Teacher-of-the-Year Banquet scheduled for Sunday, August 27 at 11:00 am in the ballroom of the Nicholls State University Donald G. Bollinger Student Union. Congressman Charlie Melancon will be a featured speaker and Whitney Bank is the proud sponsor of the event.

During the ceremony, the LEF will salute the 27 winners of the 2006 Teacher-of-the-Year awards, representing elementary, middle and high schools throughout the parish, as well as announce the overall winner in each of the school categories. "All of our teachers are so deserving of the awards, and we are pleased to be able to honor them in this special way," says LEF Executive Director Chris D'Arcangelo.

The three teachers selected as overall "Teachers-of-the-Year" will receive cash prizes, and winners from each school will receive a gift of appreciation
